Scope

This policy applies to the aPhone iPhone app by appricolt for kids. aPhone is a pretend phone game for children with a parent or caregiver. It requires no account, does not place real calls and does not access the deviceโ€™s system address book.

Data stored on your device

Contact names and pretend numbers added by a parent or child, selected avatars, parent-recorded or imported reply audio, reply text, scenarios, preferences and simulated call history are stored in the appโ€™s local storage. They display contacts, play replies and allow parents to view simulated call start and end times and duration. The app keeps the most recent 100 simulated call records. Optional captured call audio/video is linked to these local records. Removing a call record deletes its associated local capture file; clearing call history deletes associated local capture files. This content is not uploaded to developer servers.

Microphone, photos and files

The microphone is used when a parent actively records a reply. In version 1.1 and later, a parent with active aPhone Plus can also choose to record audio or video of pretend calls. This is off by default and must be enabled in passcode-protected parent settings after granting the required microphone and camera permissions. A visible indicator is shown while recording. Audio and video are saved only on the device for parent playback and deletion; they are not uploaded to developer servers. Recording stops when the call ends or the app leaves active use. Without parent-enabled call capture, pretend calls do not record a childโ€™s voice. Users select individual photos through the system photo picker and import audio through the system file picker. The app does not scan the entire photo library or read unselected files.

Camera and pretend FaceTime

In version 1.1 and later, camera permission is requested only from the parent area. Pretend FaceTime displays a live on-device preview and can switch between front and rear cameras; it does not connect to another person. A preview alone does not save photos or videos or record audio. If a parent explicitly enables video capture, the app saves a local movie of the camera view and microphone audio. Parents can review and delete saved clips from parent call history. Child call screens do not request permissions or open external settings.

Parent PIN

The parent PIN is stored as a salted hash in the system Keychain and is linked to a local installation identifier for access to local settings. The developer does not receive the PIN and does not operate a cloud PIN recovery service.

Childrenโ€™s privacy and tracking

The app has no child accounts, live messaging, public sharing, third-party ads or analytics tracking SDKs. Default audio is bundled with the app; playback does not send a parentโ€™s or childโ€™s content to a voice-generation service. Parents should add only photos, audio and text they have permission to use.

Apple purchases and system services

If your version offers aPhone Plus subscriptions, purchases and payments are processed by Appleโ€™s App Store. The app uses Apple StoreKit subscription and transaction information to confirm Plus access. The developer does not receive payment card numbers. Appleโ€™s distribution, transactions, system services, device backups and any synchronization services you choose are governed by Appleโ€™s own terms and privacy policy.

Retention, deletion and permissions

Content remains on your device until you remove it or delete the app. Parents can remove custom recordings and contacts in settings and save the changes. Parents can also delete individual call recordings or clear local call history, even after Plus expires. Turning capture off and deleting content remain available without an active subscription. Deleting the app removes its local app data; offloading keeps it. Apple backups may retain copies, and restoring a backup may restore app data. Manage those copies through your device and Apple backup settings. You can revoke microphone or camera permission in iPhone Settings. Deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription.

This policy describes the aPhone app. The appricolt.com website and external services may have separate privacy and cookie terms. Links opened outside the app are subject to the destinationโ€™s own privacy policy. If you contact support, the information you submit is used to address that support or privacy request. The developer cannot directly access or delete app content stored on your device.

Changes

If the appโ€™s data handling changes, we will update this page and its date. The app requests additional system permissions through system prompts when needed.
